<hi style=afpcap>The T-33A served the Air Force for many years in a diverse selection of roles, although the aircraft was purchased for the training role. Depicted is an early shot of a T-33A obtained with 1951 funding which carries the 'buzz number' on the nose consisting of a two letter identifier and the last three of the serial. The majority of USAF types carried these from the end of World War Two until the early sixties. The first of the two letters identified the aircraft function, within the system A attack; B bomber; C cargo; F fighter; G glider; L liaison; O observation; Q drone; and T trainer. </hi>
